Nadya – Melted Cheddar and Ground Beef Potato Casserole Recipe Ingredients: 4 large potatoes, thinly sliced 1 lb ground beef 1 medium onion, diced 2 cloves garlic, minced 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese 1/2 cup milk 1/2 cup beef broth 1 tsp dried thyme 1 tsp paprika Salt and pepper to taste Fresh parsley or thyme sprigs for garnish 1 tbsp olive oil Directions: Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat. Add the ground beef and cook until browned, breaking it up with a spoon as it cooks. Drain any excess fat. Add the diced onion and minced garlic to the pan, and cook for 2-3 minutes until softened. Stir in paprika, thyme, salt, and pepper, and mix well. Remove from heat. In a baking dish, arrange a layer of thinly sliced potatoes at the bottom. Then add half of the beef mixture over the potatoes. Repeat with another layer of potatoes, followed by the remaining beef mixture. Pour the milk and beef broth over the casserole, ensuring the liquid soaks through the layers. Cover the dish with foil and bake for 30 minutes. After 30 minutes, remove the foil and sprinkle the shredded cheddar cheese over the top. Bake uncovered for another 15-20 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and the potatoes are tender. Let the casserole rest for 5 minutes before serving. Garnish with fresh herbs.
